We’re so lucky to have a world-class facility on our doorstep. Now we want to the Ipswich community to come along and have a ride with us!
Starting next week, Coach Chelsea is commencing training programs for women and juniors; so come out to the park, develop your skills, and achieve your riding goals while having a bit of fun with others.
For a limited time we’re inviting non-members along to our free training sessions, so come along and bring your friends!
Women’s training is held on Monday nights from 6.00 pm to 7.00 pm. From Monday the 14th of May, you won’t even need membership to come and train with us until July!
For kids aged 5 to 17, we’re running Junior Training on Sundays from 8.00 am to 9.00 am, starting on Sunday the 20th of May. Juniors who are not club members will be able to participate in our introductory sessions until July.
Introductory sessions for women and juniors will run for around six weeks, after which time participants will need to have either Race or Ride membership of Ipswich Cycling Club. Check the Cycling Australia membership website for details. Membership provides coverage for both you and the club for injuries in the event of an incident while training.
What to bring? Bring along your bike, helmet (one with an AS sticker inside), enclosed shoes and a water bottle.
For daytime training, sunscreen and sunglasses are always a good idea. It’s also starting to get cooler, so layer up for warmth.
If you’re training in the evenings, consider a cheap pair of safety glasses from the hardware to keep the bugs out of your eyes!
